Jens Kull (Kulltur), born in Basel in 1975, is an award winning multidisciplinary artist who explores the intersection of technology, science and various forms of media to create unique perspectives on reality and its possibilities. After studying ethnology and philosophy at the University of Basel, he moved to Mexico City to study photography, visual effects, and video compositing. He has developed his own unique methods for observing people and urban spaces and has been working with virtual reality for over a decade, especially during his time living in Los Angeles where he became an avid Tilt Brush artist (VR Painting tool). His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private and public contemporary art collections. He currently works from Switzerland and collaborates with worldwide art exponents like Mexico's oldest gallery, the Galeria de Arte Mexicano. Kull's work has been praised for its ability to "confront and comfort" as it reveals new relationships and juxtapositions between the familiar and the "inevitably novel." His experiments in WebXR have been gaining traction with the emergence of immersive, browser-based platforms, allowing him to blend physical presence with digital ephemerality—expanding how audiences experience memory, identity, legacy, and space in the age of extended reality.
